Y2W47 - Life after Tuscany

Well, the drive back was pretty uneventful which was a nice change. It was really nice to be back home. The first few days we had awesome weather and the girls were dying to have a picnic with my mom down at the Rhein. Toward the end of the week, the weather forecast was starting to look like rain so we decided to go to the Gestapo Museum in Köln on Thursday by train. Lleyton was boycotting the car seat after so many hours in the car last week. It was great. My mom really enjoyed it and we spent all afternoon shopping and walking around Köln. Friday, it rained all day so we were fortunate that we did all the outside stuff earlier in the week. The girls worked on crafty things all day that my mom had given them for Easter. Saturday, we thought it was better to stay close to home instead of another road trip so we just did Bonn. It was fun until my mom didn't get the Berliner she wanted. We looked in every Bäckerei and couldn't seem to find any Berliners. Usually, they are everywhere. We ended up getting some in Bad Godesberg on the way home. It was a nice casual day. Sunday was another beautiful day so after Church we went and sat by the Rhein River and just enjoyed the weather. We had to treat my mom to one last ice cream treat (Spaghetti ice) before she left to go home. As if it wasn't hard enough getting her here...someone who had been changing her flight to get her here inadvertently cancelled her return flight. I was a few more hours on the phone with Northwest trying to get her on her original flight. They did and all worked out great. It is amazing what customer service people can do when they want to help!

Another highlight this week was that Lleyton hit his 7 month milestone and started popping up on all fours.
